The cause of this problem, which emerged during the tobacco field period, is not yet known. Small or large white, whitish growths such as popcorn are observed on the root parts of the damaged plants. Orobanche is called the false orobanche because it appeared similarly. Sometimes it can cause stunting in the plant. Tumors with a diameter of 8-15 cm are formed in the main root, smaller tumors occur in the secondary roots. It is stated that it makes leafy bud-like formations on the stem.

Studies conducted show that it is a physiological problem. I think that the imbalance in the ratio of the growth regulators auxin and cytokine, especially the excess of auxin, causes this problem. Unlike Orobanche, it never rises and never blooms. Plants caught in pseudo-orobanche slow down or stop their development, yield decreases. There is no found practical struggle.

Nocardia spp. It is stated that this can cause this problem.
